Habitat Cabarrus management was made aware of a potential opportunity for funding of accessibility repairs in the Summer of 2017 through the R.L. Mace Universal Design institute. Following discussions, an agreement was signed in the Fall of 2017 to fund limited number of qualified accessibility repairs/improvements to be completed by May 2018.
Habitat Cabarrus recently completed its second accessibility repair utilizing funding from the R.L. Mace Universal Design Institute. This project for the Bell family, included deconstruction of the current ramp which as not built to code, with a new ramp which now allows for easier access to and from the home.
It truly shows the values of a company when they step up in a very big way like Niblock Homes has. Not only are they providing all of the labor on one of our builds, but they have also donated almost all of the supplies as well including lumber, siding, doors and roofing. As a company that makes dream homes a reality for so many families, we are thrilled that they also see how they can impact a family who needs a second chance with an affordable home of their own.
