Dana Conner Richardson Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the Dana Conner Richardson Memorial Scholarship is to promote the opportunity for immediate family members of Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County partner families to obtain education beyond high school. This education should be for the purpose of improving their lives to become successful members of the community so that they might someday be able to share with others for the overall advancement of the community in which they live.
Dana Conner Richardson was the Program Director for Habitat for Humanity, Cabarrus County when she lost her battle to cancer on June 26, 2010 just 3 days after her 42nd birthday. Dana was deeply committed to the principles of Habitat for Humanity and the elimination of poverty in Cabarrus County. She was also a strong believer in higher education as demonstrated by the fact that she was the first in her family to graduate from college. This scholarship is a living legacy to Dana and these principles that were foundations in her life.
The successful recipient can use the award towards tuition and/or book expenses associated with their further education in a trade school, community college, four year college or university or other institution of higher education.
The Dana Conner Richardson Memorial Scholarship is funded by memorials given to Habitat for Humanity, Cabarrus County after Dana’s death as well as ongoing donations to this scholarship.
