2015 City of Kannapolis Rehab House
Sandra loves her family, but she knew she and her daughter needed to leave their overcrowded living situation. So she moved into Habitat Hill, our transitional housing apartment building, for a year, to help her meet home ownership criteria.
When the City of Kannapolis donated a home that needed rehabilitation work to Habitat Cabarrus, it was just the right size for Sandra. Through the help of volunteers and other partner families, Habitat Cabarrus added insulation, a new roof and a few other things to make Sandra's home like new.
Sandra was initially challenged by the time demands of juggling family and work commitments with scheduling her sweat equity hours. Sandra was a devoted worker and really embraced the financial literacy classes. She persevered and reached her necessary sweat equity requirements. Sandra and her daughter moved into their very own, beautifully-restored home in March 2015.
We wish Sandra and her daughter many years of blessings in their new home.
