Cost of Home Campaign
Due to the combination of increased housing costs and growing income inequality, nearly one-third of households in the United States face cost burdens—spending at least 30% of their income on housing (cost-burdened) or at least 50% of their income on housing (severely cost-burdened). These burdens leave nearly 38 million households with barely enough income to afford the cost of food, healthcare and other basic necessities. 38 MILLION!
No families should have to sacrifice their futures in order to have a home, which is why Habitat Cabarrus (along with every other Habitat for Humanity affiliate across the country) is calling on YOU to help make a difference with Cost of Home.
It’s our mission as a community to mobilize, find the solutions to affordable housing and help create policies that will allow 10 million individuals to meet their most basic needs in the next 5 years.
